Coaltrans Thailand, January 23-24, 2005, Mae Moh Mine and Power Plant
The inaugural Coaltrans Thailand, which is being hosted by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), will be held on January 23-24, 2005 in Lampang, Mae Moh Mine and Power Plant, Thailand.
The conference coincides with the 50th Anniversary of EGAT's successsful mining operations at Mae Moh in Lampang Province, Northern Thailand. It will focus on sustainable development aspects of coal and lignite, which form 17 % of Thailand electricity energy sources, as well as:
- Developments involving the reduction of emission from coal and lignite through the use of latest power plan technologies
- IPP development and fuel selection issues
- Announcement of the new $300m overburden project at Mae Moh Mine
- Clean Coal Technlogy initiatives involving the reduction of CO2 emissions
