Reach to enter force on 1 June 2007

The EU Reach regulation will enter force on June 1, 2007 after being formally signed by the presidents of the EU council of ministers and European parliament on December 18, 2006.
Environment ministers unanimously approved a compromise text negotiated with the parliament earlier in December before the signing ceremony.

The text of the regulation will be published in the EU's official journal by the end of 2006.
